Dancing On Ice final: Matthew Wolfenden wins but it was really Chico Time

Dancing On Ice final 2012: Matthew Wolfenden beat Jorgie Porter to be crowned Dancing On Ice champion - but let's face it, tonight was really all about Chico Time.

Presented with the trophy on the ITV1 show this evening Emmerdale actor Matthew told hosts Philip Schofield and Christine Bleakley he was stunned: "That's going to take a few days to sink in. I can't believe it. I'm shaking."

But we all knew he was going to be brilliant from the first time he - and his hunky arms - took to the ice back in week one.

And it was the same for runner-up Jorgie Porter - who looked like a dancer from the off.

So with both of them bound to produce the sensational performances that they did tonight, our eyes were firmly on the third finalist (and potential loose cannon) Chico.

And the X Factor star - who was drafted into the competition after Chesney Hawkes was forced to pull out due to injury - threw everything he could at it.

But in his first dance to 'Happy Days', Chico's slick leather jacket couldn't hide his flaws as he dropped his partner Jodeyne Higgins.

It wasn't an injury-threatening mistake but it resulted in a relatively low score of 26 (Matt's 'Singing In The Rain' performance scored three 10s and Jorgie's dance to 'Fame' got two 10s and a 9.5 before him).

But in true Chico style he didn't lose confidence, telling Phil: "A champion is the one that gets down and gets back up."

Next the X Factor star performed TOPLESS in just zebra print leggings to LMFAO's 'Sexy And I Know It' in a desperate attempt to make it through.

Skating after both of his rivals, who again put in stellar performances, he bragged: "I might be the underdog but tonight I feel like the under god".

But despite showing off his toned upper body and gyrating sexily to the music, he was voted off in third place, leaving the final two to battle it out, skating Torvill and Dean's famous Bolero.

Judge Robin Cousins told winner Matthew that his intense version of Torvill and Dean's Bolero was "the most difficult Bolero we've ever had on Dancing On Ice."

Fellow panelist Louie Spence told petite Hollyoaks star Jorgie she'd "outdone herself" after her own graceful attempt at the classic dance.

The likable character crumbled under the pressure, sobbing her way through her last two interviews.

Barely managing to get her words out she told the presenters: "I'm so happy for him."

But it wasn't Matthew's Bolero or Jorgie's sobs that we were left with tonight.

It was Chico's chest.
